Tenun Ikat (Woven Ikat Cloth)
Product Description

As I was searching for my batiks I came across a young American weaver who married a Javanese weaver. Although central Java is not a place to look for a good ikat weaving, it does have a history for this method of weaving. What I found interesting in their design was that they used the batik motif to adorn their weaving. Very well done. I purchased quite a few from them at he time, but I only have two left.
This particular weaving is quite large. In the photo it has been doubled in half and folded into a quarter of its size. It could be used as a blanket or a bed cover.
I have since lost contact with this interesting couple. What a shame...
