Frank MacIntosh was hired by the Matson Navigation Company to help design the original art for the menus to be used in their Matson cruise ships.
Six designs were used for the menus and each one were unique and very individual. MacIntosh painted in vivid colors and with a continuity of design. Five of the designs were of the familiar luaus, fishing and flowers. The sixth one was of avery colorful ukulele. His Hawaiian Deco style reflected his era.
