Product Description

Kain Batik Kampong (Village Batik)
Batik kampong is used every day in the villages of Indonesia. Most of these batiks are made within the confines of each village and usually by cap or hand stamped. Some are made by tulisan or hand drawn, but usual by a lesser trained batik maker. Not to say that they are not beautiful because they are. The difference would be when someone can afford a batik made by a top batik maker to someone who cannot (Armani vs an outlet store). The difference is in the quality of the work that money can afford.

This particular batik was made by cap or hand stamped and by tulisan or hand drawn.

Origin: Central Java

Material: 100% Cotton

Method: Cap (Hand Stamped) and Tulisan (Hand Drawn)

Date: ca Mid 20th to 1970
