Iban Wedding Basket

This unique and beautiful Iban wedding basket is used by the Iban Tribes of Borneo. The basket is hand woven by the Iban woman elder showing an amazing and extremely fine rattan design of one of the most famous Dayak traditional motifs. She used a double weave technique applied with the fine weave shown on the outside. The inside is constructed with a thicker version of the same material for strength. The top of the basket is attached to tree bark.
